Leonard A. Kahn

I currently serve as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans, and, ex officio, as the Gerald N. Gaston Distinguished Professor in Religion & Science. I am also a Professor of Philosophy. I was the 2021-2022 Donald and Beverely Freeman Fellow at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership. Currently, I’m reading (or rereading):

  • Russell Martin, Picasso's War

  • Tad Brennan, The Stoic Life: Emotions, Duties, and Fate

  • David Chalmers, Reality+ Virtual Worlds and the Problems of Philosophy

  • Alan Thomas, The Ethical Philosophy of Bernard Williams

  • Peter Singer and Shih Chao-Hwei, The Buddhist and the Ethicist
